Dehydrated Mixed Vegetables - 1 lb

This is a great blend of vegetables, perfect for adding to rice, beans, soups and stews. It is an unseasoned soup blend that needs 30 minutes or more to rehydrate. Use with your favorite stock, add to rice dishes, or add to sauces. Use 3 parts water or soup stock to 1 part vegetable blend to rehydrate. For veggie soup use 1 cup dehydrated veggie blend plus 6 cups water or stock.

One pound is approximately 7 cups, so if you were cooking up some rice or rice and lentils, you could add 1/3 cup of the dehydrated veggies plus about 1 cup of water. If you added ¼ cup of dehydrated veggie blend to your rice/lentils then you'd add about 3/4 cups of water. To make soup, start with 1 cup dehydrated veggie blend and 6 cups of water or broth and add seasoning.

The Dehydrated Vegetable Blend mixture is a great way to add veggies to your diet if you can't get fresh veggies at the store. And these dehydrated vegetables are nearly equal to fresh veggies in nutritional value.

Contains carrot, onion, tomato, spinach, celery, red bell pepper and green bell pepper

You can use either the 1 quart (8.5” x 8.75”) or the 2 quart (8” x 12”) Mylar bag plus an oxygen absorber. The 1 pound of dehydrated veggies fits PERFECTLY in the 2-quart 8” x 12” ziplock Mylar bag.

You can use 2 of the 100 cc oxygen absorbers (but they come 100 to a package). What I do is get the 300 cc oxygen absorbers we sell that come in 10 packs (there are 5 of the 10 packs for a total of 50 300cc oxy absorbers). This way you are only opening 10 at a time.

And here’s another tip: the 2-quart 8” x 12” ziplock Mylar bags hold exactly 3 lbs of rice. So you can put some veggies in a couple and some rice in a few more, then maybe some lentils in another couple (maybe do one or two with oatmeal) until you have 10 bags ready to seal. Then you can open one of your 10 packs of the 300cc oxy absorbers, drop one in each Mylar bag of food, then zip em closed, squishing out what air you can (but DON’T try to vacuum seal or suck out all the air with a straw – you WANT some air in there!).

Once all 10 Mylar bags of food are zipped closed you are ready to seal the outer ½” of the Mylar bag. And Poofa! You have 10 bags of food ready for Long Term Storage! (I also store the organic dehydrated chopped onions and the organic dehydrated minced garlic – yum! They add flavor to all those beans we've stored :o)
