SteriPEN Classic UV Water Purifier
SteriPEN Classic UV Water Purifier
Destroys bacteria, viruses and protozoa, uses AA batteries
The SteriPEN Classic purifies water using Ultraviolet (UV) light. Whether your source is a clear running brook or a hotel tap, SteriPEN Classic destroys viruses, bacteria and protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium, in seconds.
While the SteriPen Classic is a bit larger than the JourneyLCD, it runs on AA batteries. If you live in an area or a country where it is just not feasible to get the CR123 batteries, then this is the model for you.
NOT ALL AA BATTERIES ARE CREATED FOR THE SAME TASKS, so it is important as to what type of AA batteries you use with your SteriPen Classic purifier.
Lithium disposable (not rechargeable) AA batteries are good for 200 uses on 16 oz of water
NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) AA batteries are good for 200 uses on 16 oz of water and are recommended for cold weather use
ALKALINE AA BATTERIES ARE NOT RECOMMENDED – alkaline batteries’ low power will yield zero to few treatments
NiCad (Nickel Cadmium) AA BATTERIES ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
